About the Book

Cal is not an ordinary dog. Cal is different. Cal has three legs instead of four. One day, he goes to the park to discover that the dogs there do not want to play with him because he has three legs. Cal is determined to find his missing leg so the dogs will play with him.

Will he find what he’s looking for? Join Cal the three-pawed pup on a humorous and touching journey to find his missing leg.

Author Bio

Throughout her life, Sasha has been telling stories using different mediums with dance, film, and writing. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Cal State Long Beach and shortly after rescued Cal.

They immediately became inseparable.

Cal has inspired everyone he meets with his quirkiness and resiliency. Sasha hopes this book encourages children and adults to love who they are and embrace their unique qualities. Sasha lives in Kamloops, BC, with her husband, Nate; her daughter, Chloe Ray; and, of course, her pal, Cal.

All Canadian: I’m a local author from Kamloops, BC. The illustrator of the book is from Vancouver, BC and the company we used to self-publish is based in Victoria, BC (Tellwell Publishing).

Cathy Burrell

Location: Kelowna

A memoir about growing up in Calgary, Alberta, and after my father’s bankruptcy being abruptly moved to Yellowknife NWT when I was 10 years old. My mother was a Ukrainian immigrant and I flew each summer while I lived in Calgary to visit my mother’s big Ukrainian family. The memoir is dedicated to Baba.

Our country is unique, and so are our stories. Many people experienced a big move in their young life, but not many moves North! This book is relatable on many levels, most of all, a look back on the people who raised you. You may have not had my parents, or family situation, but I know reading it will give you a reason to think about yours…
