Cathy Burrell
Location: Kelowna
A memoir about growing up in Calgary, Alberta, and after my father’s bankruptcy being abruptly moved to Yellowknife NWT when I was 10 years old. My mother was a Ukrainian immigrant and I flew each summer while I lived in Calgary to visit my mother’s big Ukrainian family. The memoir is dedicated to Baba.
Our country is unique, and so are our stories. Many people experienced a big move in their young life, but not many moves North! This book is relatable on many levels, most of all, a look back on the people who raised you. You may have not had my parents, or family situation, but I know reading it will give you a reason to think about yours…
